So we were asked to create a blogger account for class, and I can't help to admit that I am pretty happy with the idea of creating a place to put our favorite children's literature. Tonight I actually had a chance to write my own story, and I have written one or two children's books in the past but nothing that has ever been published. My sister had asked me to write up a crime scene story that was friendly for 8-11 year olds; she is giving a presentation on extracting DNA from onions at a local public school next weekend and she wanted my help. So, I made up a story using power point about these little vegetables who were afraid of being eaten...I know it's very silly sounding...but seriously it was tons of fun to write! On that note, one of my long term goals is to actually write children's books for something on the side while teaching, and eventually keep it up after retirement. So I guess this was just practice for that, and writing and reading reviews for children's literature will do the same. Have a good night.
